Synopsis:

One morning, high schooler Suzume Iwato encounters Souta Munakata, a mysterious young man searching for abandoned places. Intrigued, she guides him to a nearby ruin, only to find herself drawn to the location later out of curiosity. There, Suzume discovers a strange door standing alone amidst the desolation. Beyond it lies a dreamlike universe that she can see and feel but cannot enter.

Near the door, a peculiar stone catches her eye, but as soon as she lifts it, it transforms into a cat-like creature and scampers away. Unbeknownst to Suzume, her actions have grave consequences. By leaving the door open, she has unwittingly unleashed a dangerous force from the other world—one that threatens to wreak havoc across Japan.

Determined to right her wrongs, Suzume teams up with Souta, whose mission is to prevent this evil from spreading. Together, they must locate and seal all the open doors before the unleashed force brings destruction to the country.
